Listing corrections & removal

If your clinic or provider profile is wrong, you can fix it, claim it, or ask us to take it down.

Where listings come from

TMS List compiles clinic and provider listings from public sources: practice websites, device-maker locators and public provider registries such as the NPI registry. Listings that haven't been claimed are marked as unverified. Being listed is not an endorsement.

Your three options

Every clinic and provider page has a “Report incorrect information” button at the bottom. It offers:

  1. Send a correction. Anyone, including patients, can tell us what's wrong. We check it before changing anything.
  2. Claim the listing. Owners and staff can claim a clinic for free and edit its details, doctors and photos themselves. Providers claim their profile through their clinic.
  3. Request removal. If you'd rather not be listed, ask us to take the profile down.

Who can ask for a removal

  • A clinic listing: the owner, a manager or staff member authorised to speak for the practice, or its legal representative.
  • A provider profile: the provider themselves, the practice they're listed at, or their legal representative.

Requests from anyone else (for example a patient reporting that a clinic has closed) are handled as corrections: we check the facts and update or remove the listing ourselves.

How we confirm a request

We confirm every removal request before acting on it, so a listing can't be taken down by a competitor or by mistake.

  • We email a confirmation link to the address you give. The request only reaches our team once you click it.
  • An email address on the practice's own website domain, or the one shown on the listing, is usually all we need.
  • Otherwise we may check the provider's NPI number, call the practice on its listed phone number, or ask for a document showing you speak for the practice.
  • If you've already claimed the listing, you can remove it yourself straight away from your account settings.

How long it takes

We reply to confirmed requests within 5 business days. Corrections are usually made faster, often the same day.

What happens when a listing is removed

  • The page stops showing the listing and tells visitors (and search engines) that it has been removed. It drops out of our search, maps, lists and sitemaps straight away. Search engines usually forget it within a few weeks.
  • The listing goes on our do-not-list, so it isn't added back when we refresh our data, and we stop sending emails about it.
  • We keep a minimal record of the request (who asked, when and why) so we can show the request was honoured and keep the profile off the directory. We don't use it for anything else.
  • Reviews patients left on TMS List are hidden along with the listing.

Changing your mind

Removal is reversible. If you removed the listing from your account, restore it from the same settings page. Otherwise email us from the address you used and we'll restore it.
