Already met your 2026 deductible? Timing a TMS course before December 31

A standard TMS course is a session a day, five days a week, for about six weeks. If you have already met your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum this year, sessions delivered before December 31 can cost you far less than the same sessions in January, when calendar-year plans reset. The catch is timing. Prior authorization can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, and a six-week course that starts in mid-November runs straight into the holidays. If you want to use this year's deductible, start the conversation with a clinic now. Ask how long their authorizations usually take and how they schedule around holiday closures. Two things to keep in mind: sessions after January 1 count toward the new year's deductible, and money left in an FSA can usually go toward TMS copays (check your plan's grace period or carryover rule). This is general information, not medical or insurance advice.
