Neuronetics announced an integration between NeuroStar's TrakStar practice management platform and AdvancedMD, a cloud-based EHR, practice management, and revenue cycle system. The company describes it as the first time a TMS system has been integrated with an EHR/EMR.

The integration passes NeuroStar treatment data into AdvancedMD, where practices already manage scheduling, clinical notes, and billing. Neuronetics says this should cut duplicate documentation across a multi-session treatment course. A pilot practice in Madison, Wisconsin reported that connecting the two systems removed duplicate work for staff.

It will be available in the fourth quarter to NeuroStar providers already using AdvancedMD, and Neuronetics says it plans to integrate with additional EHR platforms. For patients the change is indirect, but administrative efficiency is one of the factors that determines how smoothly a clinic can schedule and document a 30-plus session course.
