BrainsWay presented the first prospective 12-month durability data for its SWIFT accelerated Deep TMS protocol for major depressive disorder at the Clinical TMS Society Annual Meeting in Boston. Preliminary analysis showed an over-80% remission rate a full year after the compressed treatment course was completed.
The data showed sustained clinical benefit long after treatment ended, with the share of patients reporting severe functional impairment falling from 85% at baseline to 0% at one year. Durability has been the central open question for accelerated protocols, which deliver multiple sessions per day over about a week instead of the traditional six-plus weeks of daily sessions.
Positive long-term data strengthens the clinical case clinics can make to payers and complements BrainsWay's parallel push to expand insurance coverage for SWIFT, which recently crossed 57 million covered lives.
